О Класс-Центре на английском языке. Information about our art school in english

“Class-centre” is a school with a 30-year history that helps children to find themselves in terms of future profession according to their abilities through integration of comprehensive education and vocational training by combining them rather than contradicting. The main integrating element is the “Theatre where children play” that at the end presents a specific result – a performance – and gives children, teachers and parents the opportunity to see and realize the emotional and intellectual abilities of the children and what is the most important – the level of their spiritual maturity.

It is the study of culture that is seen as a means of orientation and adjustment to the changing world and cultural environment, which leads to a certain regulation. That is why “Class-centre” offers cultural knowledge as the integral part of educational process that not only unites various programmes in different combinations with a system of general and specific courses but also allows seeing these programmes from the perspective of cultural anthropology – the science about humans in the world who make it a world of their creations – the world of human culture.

Theatre culture is the fundamental idea of this education. Theatre, the process of creation of a performance that is experienced in the dynamics of preparation for it through a series of already used programmes – is a powerful means of studying the culture and the world.

“The reason for the success of the school is the metacharacter of the subjects. – its principal Sergey Kazarnovskiy thinks. – One subject helps to understand another one and all together they teach life”.

An effective school can’t have a standard set of subjects! Why does “Class-school” teach jazz? Because it explains “jazz thinking” – the art of thinking and improvising. Why does it teach plasticity? Because through it children learn to understand their body. Why does it teach the art of origami? Because it destroys the norms. A small child is taught not how to crumple, tear or destroy. Origami says: you can crumple, you can tear but you can create through it! Why is the art of performing important? It teaches how to understand your partner. And it will be useful in life.

The experimental school of the Honoured Teacher of the Russian Federation of Sergey Kazarnovskiy “Class-centre” has 360 students and 120 teachers. He created a unique combination of students and teachers because he was able to formulate his goal. To achieve it he chose both students and teachers as if they were going to space – individually. The goal is to bring up children full of light. Then these children will shine on everything around them. The more such children will be in society, the less darker it will become.

The school has won the contest among the best schools of Russia that was a part of Priority national project “Education” in Moscow, the contest “The school of Future”, the contest “Best School Yard” – the main prize in the category “Best School Design”.
